Raisa was born in Los Angeles by both of her parents. Irlanda Almendarez & Italia Almendarez. Francia refers to France which is Italian. Similar to that, Irlanda is Ireland in Italian and Italia refers to the Italian word for Italy. Her mother, Virginia Almendarez has Mexican roots and her father, Renan, has roots in Honduras. Renan assumed the name El Cucuy within a short time after her arrival. He's a well-known radio personality and is one of the top Latino DJs who reside in Los Angeles. Francia was raised in a family with a celebrity dad, like her sisters. Francia is fluent in Spanish as well as English. Francia started dancing lessons at the age of five. she was 5 years old.
